Pilates Studio Etiquette and Requirements

Now that you have signed up for classes, you may wonder what to do next. What do you wear? What do you NOT wear? What are the general rules of the Studio.  Read the lists below so that you are properly prepared for your first class.

GENERAL INFORMATION: WHAT SHOULD I DO?

  • Please arrive early
  • Silence your cell phone and leave it in your bag
  • Wait quietly in the front lobby until your class is called
  • Do not wander around the studio, other classes may be in session
  • Please remove shoes before entering the Pilates studio
  • Bring a water bottle – hydrate, hydrate, hydrate
  • Place all shoes, bags and cell phones in the cubby holes provided
  • No pens, handbags, etc. on/near the reformers (water bottles allowed)
  • Do not chew gum, mints or candy while in class
  • Wipe down your space and everything you touched at the end of class
  • Make sure to cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours before your class to avoid a cancellation fee

 

CLOTHING: WHAT DO I WEAR?

  • DO wear clothes that are appropriate and you can move freely in
  • DON’T wear clothing with zippers or buttons – they can damage the equipment
  • DO wear clean Grippy/Pilates socks (wash them often, the floors can be dusty)
  • DON’T wear perfume or strong scents, jewelry, hair clips, hair claws or hats with snaps on the back
